Novela como nube or Narcissus in the mirrors
Abstract
Gilberto Owen wrote in 1928 Novela como nube, experimental work which represents an incomplete and divided self as a myriad of different voices that builds up the self as someone else following a repetitive process. In order to analyze this feature, I will study the plot and language of this novel, as well as the interpretation of Ixion’s myth developed throughout the story, taking into account the contextual avant-garde movements, such as Surrealism. I will try to understand the labyrinth of voices and narrative fragments according to those references.Downloads
