Abstract

This article studies the aesthetical concept of Baroque, from the analysis of its construction in the end of nineteenth century Historiography of Art and its adoption in French literary theory of mid-twentieth century, in order to essay its application to History of Philosophy. This is fruitful for the analysis and definition of Spanish Philosophy of first Modernity, as well as for the comprehension of its specificity in comparison with the most systematic Metaphysics of the seventeenth century.
