The Expansion of the Realist Paradigm in the GDR: the Acceptance of Fantastic Forms Based on the Debate about the Literature of E.T.A. Hoffmann
Abstract
Considering how much realism in literature was supported from the party doctrine of the GDR, the question about the degree of acceptation of the fantastic in GDR’s Literaturgesellschaft arises. The main thesis of this work is that at the end of the 60’and beginning of the 70’ the realist paradigm opens as a consequence of the review of the reflection theory to accept new forms of the fantastic, previously rejected, which started to have “truth content”.Downloads
