From the Oppositive Encounter between Whites and Blacks to the Stakes of Intercultural Competence in the African Diasporic Literature in Germany: The Case of Chima Oji’s "Unter die deutschen gefallen" and Hilaire Mbakop’s "Les étrangers noirs africains"
Abstract
Since 1980, the German literary field has experienced a literature produced by writers from the African continent. In most cases, texts written by these writers bring to light the problem of integration and social discrimination in the German society. This paper develops the hypothesis according to which racism to writers of the African community in Germany stems from the contact between the White and the Black. From the process of intercultural perception that consists in the (de) construction of images or collective representations of another culture, we want to show that if the migrant is subject to nothingness, he however displays the necessity of backing himself by delivering a speech of resistance so as to conspire against racism.
