Büchners Kunstanschauung und anthropologische Menschenauffassung
Abstract
The art conversation in the novel »Lenz« from Georg Büchner is a key-conversation, where Büchner expresses his own reception of art and ethic. From this conversation it is possible to deduct his anthropologic concept of humanity, where pity plays a central role. The analysis of the painting »Jesus Christ in Emaus«, which Büchner mentions in the narrative, illustrates Büchner’s concept of art but also presents his anthropologic conception. With the inclusion of naturalistic and expressionistic elements like the ugly and the minor, which are contrary to the classic elements, Büchner expresses his human engagement.Downloads
