Social entrepreneurship: a bibliometric analysis and literature review

Abstract

Social entrepreneurship is a field of study that in recent decades has been occupying a growing interest by academic institutions, organizations linked to the field of citizenship and public administration due to its relevant economic and social impact. This review, through bibliometric analysis techniques, focuses on identifying the main authors, countries, journals and institutions with the highest scientific production on the subject. In addition, it analyzes the main research fronts that accompany social entrepreneurship in the scientific literature, registered in the Web of Science (WoS) database. Through bibliometric methods and tools of the software 'Bibliometrix' to know its scope, quantity or quality, and in turn, guide future researchers on the subject of social entrepreneurship. As one of the results of the study, it was determined in four thematic quadrants, the main lines of research that accompany the themes of social entrepreneurship, such as social value, social entrepreneurship, social innovation and social enterprise.
