Protestantism as Christian existentialism
Abstract
A vast literature exists on the influence of Protestantism on modern world configuration. Beyond the specific influence of Protestantism in different fields of modern society, such as economy, law or politics, a common vector leading that influence could be considered. Here is where philosophy seems crucial. The believer understanding of the human individual clearly involves his understanding of faith. This work examines concurrences, resemblances, relationships or pure compatibilities between the existentialist thinking and Lutheranism. The main conclusion is that both exhibit significant similarities, not only in the selected issue and their conclusions, but also concerning their very attitude and rhetoric.
