Prácticas mortuorias entre las poblaciones Aguada del valle de Ambato (Catamarca, Argentina)
Abstract
In the following paper it would be discussed a variety of possible behaviours related with death in Aguada populations from Ambato valley (Catamarca Province, Argentinean northwest) during the Intermediate Period or Regional Integration (700-1100 AD). We offer the latest findings of human bones in the archaeological site of La Rinconada and propose our interpretations about them. Taking into account the few but suggestive findings of archaeological human bones from this site, and integrating the corpus of data published for a group of archaeological sites from the study area, we discuss the particular mortuary practices that could have been taking place within societies generally defined by increasing social complexity and the consolidation of new ways of life.Downloads
