La lucha por la herencia en una familia de Xochimilco del siglo XVI
Abstract
The archives are filled with disputes of different kinds. The interesting aspect of this particular case is the context which may seem of the most familiar to us: the fight between a mother-in-law and a daughter-in-law about the inheritance of the deceased son or husband. However, most important of this present study is the varied documentation at our disposal concerning the case; from pictographic manuscripts to alphabetical texts both in Nahuatl and Spanish. Thanks to this richness of documents we have been able to interpret three pictographic manuscripts that were presented by the two parts in order to reinforce their respective claims.Downloads
