Poderes del ritual y rituales del poder: un análisis de las celebraciones en los pueblos jesuíticos de Guaraníes
Abstract
This paper studies ritual life in the Guarani towns of the «Provincia Jesuítica del Paraguay» during 17th and 18th centuries. It is divided in two parts. The first one, describes the diverse types of ceremonies celebrated in the towns and proposes a tentative clasification of them. The second part, analyses the role of ritual in the institution of centralized political organization during the jesuit period.Downloads
