Valdivia, phase 3: transformation of female figurines, acceleration of gender inequality and notes on diversity.
Abstract
At the beginning of phase 3 of the Valdivia culture took place a group of significant social transformations linked to the change in the unmistakable female figurines. The increase in population, the structure of the settlement, the kinship system and the associated ritual support a hypothesis about the direct impact that occurred in relations between genders, the acceleration of inequality and a new role for women that it is not as expected.
