Abstract

In this article is studied the way to reach the efficiency and to achieve the legitimation of power in the organization of the drug trafficking in Rio de Janeiro. The analysis is carried out through the use of the paternalistic strategies that already they were used by the industrial businessmen of the XIX and XX century. The article is based on an empirical investigation with the methodology of the participating observation. We want to show how in spite of the apparent distance among both organizations, there are mechanisms of regulation and internal organization that orient the behaviours toward the obtaining of target generating, on the one hand, ties of loyalty and obedience of the subordinate toward the superiors in the hierarchical scale and toward the organization; and the other hand, securing the legitimacy of the imposed order based on the benefits, economics and socials, that receive from the organization.
