Flujos migratorios y cambio social en la Región de Murcia
Abstract
This paper deals with the different international migratory flows arrived to the region the Murcia since the mid eighties in the twentieth century up to the present. The article examines the changes in this three decades of economic migrations, associated with demographic characteristics, family strategies, spatial distribution and residential insertion, and the labour trajectories, connecting it afterward specifically with the processes of integration and the inter-ethnics relationships. These processes are illustrated with the analysis of the census databases and with some examples obtained from different qualitative field works. The paper claims to show that immigrant workers share histories of extreme class stratification and disenfranchisement created by both legal and extra-legal discrimination and exploitation.Downloads
