Japan's commitment to current global challenges: analysis of international cooperation and official development aid policies
Abstract
Since Japan's incorporation into the United Nations in 1956 as a peace-loving nation, its role on the international scene has increased considerably in order to guarantee world peace, stability and prosperity. In this sense, it has stood out especially in the field of international cooperation, where it has proactively contributed to the socio-economic growth of developing countries and has become one of the main global benchmarks, especially in terms of official aid to developing. However, the advance of globalization has given rise to new cross-border challenges that have forced Japan to review its international cooperation policies. In this article, we will analyze the development aid offered by Japan and its evolution over time, to delve further into the innovative elements of the new development cooperation policy that has made Japan stand out in the formulation and execution of these measures before the international community.
