A patologização da gravidez e o aborto na mediatização da epidemia de Zika
Abstract
The problematization of microcephaly in the babies of pregnant women infected with the Zika virus sparked the discussion about the legalization of abortion in 2016 in Brazil. This investigation approaches the feminist perspective and analyses articles from online editions of Folha de S.Paulo and O Globo from a critical discourse analysis. The aim is to understand which power relations were dynamized in journalistic discursive practices. The results show that the news coverage privileged the medical, legal, political and religious spheres, and reserved the Zika-microcephaly relationship for young and peripheral women.
