Abstract

Introduction. Welding is a process by which two or more materials, generally metallic, are joined by fusion, heating and/or pressure. Despite being an industrial process mainly directed, practiced and investigated by male collaborators, the participation of female researchers in the subject has been increasing. Objectives. Through a quantitative analysis using bibliometric tools, it has been possible to demonstrate the participation of researchers in Mexico in the different existing industrial welding processes. Methodology. The Scopus database was used in order to account for said participation in welding issues. Results and Discussion. A participation of less than 12% was recorded considering production years from 1985 to 2022, additionally, the two thematic areas with the highest production were detected, including those that have application in welding and that have that have a great industrial impact. Conclusion. For purposes of greater participation, learn about and create awareness about the important contribution made by women in industrial issues.
