Abstract

This research uses data from the two surveys prepared by the National Institute of Statistics and Geography (INEGI): the Telephone Survey on COVID-19 and the Labor Market (ECOVID-ML) and the Study on Business Demographics (EDN). Based on this, it analyzes the impact that the pandemic had on companies and the labor market in Puebla and Colima, mainly on the female population. Methodologically, the gender perspective is used, specifically the concepts of care and work-family balance. This makes visible how women from Colima and Puebla faced greater challenges during the pandemic. Finally, the conclusions and the critical implementation of public policies lacking a gender perspective are made, in the search to eliminate the existing gender gap.
