What about the daughters of Spain? The Hispanic America and the national propaganda during the civil war
Abstract
The article we present is centered on the image of Hispanic America in the propaganda of the press from the national side through the study of the major newspapers published in the national Spain. An image which, as we will see, was not centered on a present reality, but on the tradition of Hispanismo, including large doses of propaganda. And that was because the idea of Hispanic America, with its ups and downs since the independence of the colonies, became part of the collective ideology and, especially, of the Right and the Falange, which demanded the old Spanish Empire and a greater role for Spain in the world, as implied in Hispanismo.Downloads
