Qualitative analysis of the use of the conciliation function in the speeches of Sánchez and Feijóo during the Government Control Sessions
Abstract
If political parties do not work on the possibility of reaching agreements with their adversaries, polarization is triggered. The aim of this research is to analyze the use of the conciliation function in the speeches of Pedro Sánchez and Alberto Núñez Feijóo during the control sessions of the Congress of Deputies. The results are no less discouraging for being expected: the conciliation function has been used exclusively for protocol purposes and on many occasions masked together with the adversarial function. In addition, there are significant peaks in the function of delegitimization, also used by both.
