Revolución en los campos californianos en los años 30 y su reflejo en la prensa española
Abstract
This article analyses the conflict that it existed in Californian agriculture during the 30’s, focusing on the strikes that are recorded in three valleys where the agrarian strike movement reached its highest point: SalinasValley, San Joaquin Valley and Imperial Valley. In addition, this article studies the main farmer organizations, that lead these strikes, and the owners' organizations that were founded to neutralise the agrarian movement. At the same time, this research deals with the image that the farming conflicts projected in the Spanish Pressof the Second Republic. During these years Spain is suffering very convulsive movements. The Spanish agriculture is putting into practice a changeling agrarian reformation as the United States do. This situation had a great influence on the treatment of information about the Californian Agrarian strikes in the Spanish Press.Downloads
