Abstract
The purpose of this work is to analyze the newspaper Gazeta do Rio de Janeiro, published in Brazil in thenineteenth century, establishing a dialogue between the production of discourse and ideology, based on textsreporting Napoleonic incursions in Spain during 1808. This work is based on the Foucault´s discourse analy-sis and the concept of ideology demarcated by works of the Brazilian philosopher Marilena Chauí.Downloads
