Pequeña/Gran pantalla: La relación entre el cine y la televisión en los Estados Unidos
Abstract
In this paper we will analyze the relation between the television and cinema industries in the United States through the exchange of narrative materials. Particularly we will focus on two periods. First, the fifties and mid sixties, in which after a distrust time the movie studios began to produce fiction for television and numerous films based on television series and vice versa were produced. Later we will review the processes of industrial convergence that happened during the nineties, which revolutionized the audiovisual panorama, and its relation with the exchange of narrative materials. We will analyze specially the case of the conglomerate Viacom, that managed to take advantage of the synergy between its different units in a very productive way.Downloads
