La prensa española y el viaje del rey a la Argentina de Videla en 1978
Abstract
This paper examines the Spanish press coverage of the Monarch’s trip to Argentina in 1978 through the content analysis of the newspaper articles written on the subject at the time. The Latin American country was a military dictatorship with Videla as president. King Juan Carlos I, playing his role as ambassador of democratic values, defended these values during the visit. The trip, problematic because of initial reticence of Spanish left-wing political parties, was finally considered a success by almost all the ideological and journalistic spectrum.Downloads
