Abstract

La presente investigación se centró en analizar el trabajo de los dos programas de periodismo político por televisión más importantes del Perú, Punto Final (PF) y Panorama (P), con el objetivo  de conocer sus características.

This research focused on analyzing the work of the two most important political journalism programs on television in Peru, Punto Final and Panorama, in order to learn about their characteristics.

For this purpose, a non-experimental research was carried out, with a mixed approach, using the methods of analysis and synthesis of the content of the Sunday programs of the months of July and August 2022 (recorded on the YouTube platform).  The results show that these programs devote more than 80% of their journalistic production to political issues; and 20% to other issues where police matters prevail, followed by some circumstantial content. They prefer the use of the interpretative genre through reports and interviews to experts; they have a marked tendency to carry out public scrutiny of the acts of the national government, especially of the executive and legislative branches; therefore, they are perceived as highly politicized, and seek to differentiate themselves in terms of the fulfillment of their roles.  Therefore, Punto Final stood out for its watchdog role, and Panorama for being the journalistic voice.
