«Será dueña de su suerte». The commitment to agrarian space in Carmen de Burgos' anti–industrial discourse (1903–1915)
Abstract
This article aims to analyse Carmen de Burgos's participation in the regenerationist debate on the Spanish economic situation at the beginning of the 20th century and its effects on women's work. The study of the author's journalistic, essayistic and novelistic documentation during her first narrative period will allow us to understand her position in the anti–industrialist debate at the end of the century and her confidence in the agrarian space as a solution to all the ills that afflicted the Spanish nation. This position motivated her involvement in the practical education of women, which she disseminated in her narrative.
