Keywords: TVE, Feminism, women journalists, International Feminist Strike 8-M, Social networks

Abstract

On March 2018 (8-M), Spain was at the forefront of international feminism in a day with a historic strike for women's rights. In this context, the #lasperiodistasparamos movement united Spanish communicators in a manifesto signed by more than 8,000 women. This research aims to find out what was the reality experienced by the news journalists of Televisión Española (TVE) through fifteen in-depth interviews carried out between 2021 and 2022. Special emphasis has been placed on detecting what role social networks played in its organization and mobilization, as well as in the consequences derived from the events that occurred on TVE after 8-M 2018.
