Stylistics trends in TVE series production (1964-1975). La pequeña comedia and Historias para no dormir
Abstract
This article aims to identify the stylistic features of the first fiction series produced by TVE between 1964 and 1975. To this end, we explore two representative productions from the period: La pequeña comedia (1966-1968) written by Víctor Ruiz Iriarte (directed by Pedro Amalio López) and Historias para no dormir (1966-1982) written and directed by Narciso Ibáñez Serrador. Two episodes were analyzed in detail: “El café” (La pequeña comedia) and “La promesa” (Historias para no dormir). Two different production trends were at play in TVE at the time. On one hand, a style based on Spanish theatrical dramaturgy, as in La pequeña comedia; and on the other hand, a style influenced by more cinematographic approaches, as in Historias para no dormir.
