100 years of radio: the power of will, the voice of the pioneers
Abstract
This article proposes a historical narration of the birth and development of radio broadcasting in Spain through a biographical approach to a selection of pioneers - engineers, businessmen and professionals - who played a decisive role in the shaping of the radio medium. Based on the consultation of a wide range of documentary sources -written and oral-, the personal characteristics, actions and trajectories of these characters are reconstructed, understood as a collective actor, without which it is not possible to understand in all its complexity the difficulties that radio overcame to become a century-old media.
