The irreplaceable role of China’s new media in response to the COVID- 19

Abstract

In the face of sudden social and public crisis, the media plays an important role in communication, including disseminating information, guiding public opinion, promoting knowledge and stabilizing society. Based on the rapid development of Internet technology and the large scale of mobile Internet users, China's new media is experiencing explosive growth, which has a huge impact on news communication and social communication. In the social public crisis, if used properly, it will play a positive role in eliminating the crisis risk; if coping with the disorder, it will greatly increase the unstable factors. This text tries to introduce the performance of Chinese new media in dealing with covid-19, and draw some experiences and lessons of new media in coping with social public health crisis.
