Scientific production in communication of Spanish researchers (2005-2015)
Abstract
This exploratory research aims to know the status and temporal evolution regarding research in Spain carried out by women in communication area, in the form of scientific articles production. A content analysis of 3,653 scientific articles was carried out in a longitudinal approach in the period between 2005-2015. Among the results obtained we must highlight the gradual women’s leadership growth regarding scientific production, the tendency to publish in collaboration, the journalism consolidation as a dominant area of research, the public universities as references of origin of women scientific production, the incursion of Latin American researchers in Spanish journals, the trend towards evidence-based research, and a trend to the international research standards.
