Intellectuals and the media "opinion space": the case of La desfachatez intelectual
Abstract
This article analyses the controversy generated after the publication of Ignacio Sanchez Camara’s La desfachatez intelectual (2016). In order to do so, in the first place, I shall identify the main features of the social space under which the controversy developed, the Spanish space of opinion. I shall sketch its historical development and internal structure, the social resorces of the main players, and the intellectual genres defended by the main contenders. In this context, La desfachatez intelectual transforms the space of opinion’s rules while redefining the power equilibrium among the different social actors.
