Abstract

The reification of female identity and the expropriation of women's sexual and reproductive functions represent a common element of patriarchy. With such a purpose, historically, three narratives were triggered: irrationalization and essentialization of female identity and colonization of their bodies as sexualized Nature. The alienation of these functions calls, with an increasing interest, the attention of sexual and reproductive neoliberalism that finds there a profitable market cluster. This article shows how these historical strategies still operate within the collective imagination, and in the communication, analyzing the specific case of so the called surrogacy.
