Anchored in the past? The Culture section in the newspapers "El País", "El Mundo" and "ABC": 2007 and 2017
Abstract
The Culture section is a veteran in the print media, but has it renewed its contents? The purpose of this work is to know if in the 10-year interval, between 2007 and 2017, the printed versions of El País, El Mundo and ABC have showed changes in their content and in the way they are offered to their readers. Using content analysis, the Culture section has been studied in relation to the rest of the newspaper, issues that are published and the existence of innovative elements. The hypothesis is that despite all the innovation that the media presume, it is not integrated into the printed pages, where it is still offering the same product as a decade ago.
