Research on History of Alternative Communication as a Field in Process. The Chilean Case
Abstract
The characterization of the historical research on alternative communication in Chile, enables to affirm that this is still a recent, fragmentary and medium-centric field. A revision of undergraduate and postgraduate thesis published between 1990 and 2016 in the three main universities of the country, allows to conclude that these weaknesses persist, but also there are favorable conditions to be able to move toward the consolidation of the field, as long as there is a greater interdisciplinary research that covers arts, humanities, social sciences and communication.
