"Vindicación Feminista". A paradigmatic case of exclusion in the history of journalism in Spain
Abstract
The history of Spanish journalism continues blind to the genre. Women journalists do not appear -not their names, nor their work, nor their contributions-, in the general narrative, nor do they have a presence in specific stories, nonexistent, in the curricula as well as in the manuals and reference texts. The story of the history of Spanish journalism, in reality, is a story of exclusion. In this article we propose the example of Vindicación Feminista, the feminist magazine that appeared in the Transition, as a paradigm of exclusion basically for three reasons. In the first place, the moment of its birth, especially relevant from the social, political and media point of view. In second place, because in its pages the most outstanding journalists of the moment, in fact, a good part of the most outstanding Spanish journalists of the 20th century. And, third, because it advanced, in its reports, the most relevant and controversial issues for democracy that announced the Transition, issues that are still present in the political and media agenda.
