The influence of formalism on the bolshevik poster
Abstract
The present study tries to expose the forms of visual creation that are generated in the period that includes the Bolshevik Revolution attending to the propagandistic support of the cartel. Through this medium of social communication, a sample of different authors and themes are selected that synthesize the essential ideas that contribute their works, influenced by the principles of the formalist language. The fundamental objective is to trace the qualities offered by this discipline to the application of poster design from the methodological perspective of visual studies. On the other hand, it is exposed how the cinematographic base of the montage of attractions is present in the rhetorical structure of the design whose function is to manifest the ideological potential of the messages through the artistic creation.Downloads
