Researching communication through biographical methods. Proposals of study
Abstract
The paper analyses the application of the biographical methods to study the media communication. Looking over the main research with biographical methods already done in anthropology and sociology and analyses the use of this methods in media production studies and media reception studies. The paper argues that diverse approaches to research with biographical methods can enhance the knowledge of media communication in modern societies. Finally, the paper suggests three research lines where the biographical methods can contribute to do a critical research: the study of personal life and media; processes of social change; and collective memory.Downloads
