The Telégrafo Mercantil and the promotion of civility. The birth of the press of customs in Buenos Aires viceregal.
Abstract
In 1801 the first newspaper published in Buenos Aires was the Telégrafo Mercantil, Rural, Político, Económico e Historiográfico del Río de la Plata.Under the management of Francisco Cabello y Mesa, the newspaper is positioned from the declarative fiction as an instrument to remove ignorance and old customs through the criticism that was expressed in different speech genres.
