Historia y Comunicación Social (ISSN 1137-0734, ISSN-e 1988-3056) is a journal that publishes works on communication phenomena in human societies from a diachronic point of view. It has a miscellaneous section with articles on Contemporary History, History of Thought and specifically History of the Media.

Interoperability protocols
Historia y Comunicación Social provides an interface OAI-PMH (Open Archives Initiative – Protocol for Metadata Harvesting) that enables interoperability between different platforms and repositories through the exchange of metadata.
