Abstract
Extracurricular enrichment programs are usually used to support high ability students and their families. One characteristic of these programs is that they promote a high level of intellectual efficiency and a type of learning that is more suitable for these students that the one that they realize in their classrooms. There are more opportunities for independent work and study or for quick learning. For many of these students these programs face them for the first time to a learning situation that requires effort and concentration. In 1990 and after analyzing the results of a research in which there were detected a lack of attention and important educational demands of the families of the gifted students a team of the Complutense University of Madrid in collaboration with the Educative Institution SEK initiated a program to support these pupils and their families. This work gathers in a resumed way the practical proposal of the program and its characteristics.Downloads
