Abstract

The aim of this work is to find out the significant differences related to creativity. The study is made with a sample of 232 pupils of Infant and Primary Education, 127 belonging to the Infant Education stage and 105 to Primary Education. These pupils study in 2 schools of the municipality of Murcia, one of them private and the other half private, half state-assisted. The instruments we used are a creativity questionnaire by José Mª Martínez Beltrán and Silvia Rimm, which aims at assessing different abilities or features related to divergent or creative production; and the Torrance Test of Creative Thinking (TTCT). The data obtained in the tests show that students with high abilities have a greater creative capacity which is manifested in the amount of answers or solution thwat they offer to a given problem (fluidity); moreover, their flexible thinking lets them offer varied and original answers; finally, their elaboration capacity is shown in the quantity of details added to their creative products.
