Abstract

The present work wants to be a survey and a revision of Jackendoff’s theory on the relations between semantics and syntax. It is specially based on questions related to Thematic Theory (è-Theory), asking whether the Lexical-Conceptual Structures (LCSs) system proposed by the mentioned author substitutes in an effective way to tradicional concepts such as ‘è-roles’ and ‘è-Hierarchy’. Moreover, we’ll be asked whether or not the analyzed proposal can be positively evaluated from a minimalist perspective, that is, relative to the Minimalist Program in the Generative Grammar.
