The steps of violence: on the representations of abuse against women in four Spanish novels
Abstract
This paper wants to vindicate the impulse of some recent Spanish novels to make visible the systemic and systematic mistreatment of women. To this end, we will firstly pay attention to the forms of representation of violence(s) against the female subject and, secondly, we will focus on the links between reality/representation and on the prejudices associated with the victims of gender violence.
