Unpublished letters from Caballero Bonald and Quiñones to Canales (with news about Cela, Fernández-Canivell and Anteo)
Abstract
This article offers a study circumscribed to the aesthetic and friendly relations between the poet and critic Alfonso Canales and two distinguished writers from Cádiz, José Manuel Caballero Bonald and Fernando Quiñones, based on a collection of letters written between 1956 and 1963. To do this, special attention is paid to the third collection of poems by Caballero Bonald, the only one dedicated exclusively to flamenco, Anteo, published in 1956 in Papeles de Son Armadans, under the direction of Camilo José Cela. As a result, news of interest is provided about the ties between the poetic group of Canales and Bernabé Fernández-Canivell, linked professionally to Caracola and the collection A quien conmigo va, and other prominent editorial environments such as Papeles de Son Armadans and Cuadernos Hispanoamericanos, with a leading role by Caballero Bonald and Quiñones.
