Abstract
This article provides a study of the external constitutive parts –division, chapter, paragraph, title…- in which narrations are typically divided in books. Furthermore, in also analyses paratextual structure and how the parts of a text serve as identifying, descriptive and appellative textual keys. Thus, the authorial and pragmatic disposition of text parts will be shown as one of the essential characteristics of the novel as a text.
