The treatment of information in photographic documentation of the Museu do Homem Sergipano
Abstract
In addressing the trajectory of the photographic documentation process and its relevance in museum spaces as a collection and as a resource for information retrieval, this text presents a discussion based on three central terms: documentation, information and museums. The research was guided by a qualitative analysis, and as a research technique used the bibliographic survey to understand the practices of document management and access to information of the photographic collections of the Museu do Homem Sergipano. Thus, it was realized that photography can be considered a resource for the cultural and memorialistic record of society through preservation and communication in museum spaces.
