Academy of motion picture artists and sciences of Spain documents collections: Goya Awards (1987-2016)
Abstract
Study about the document collections from the Library and Archive of the Academy of Motion Picture, Arts and Sciences of Spain, related to the winning films in the Best Film category from the Goya Awards, being this 2016 their 30th anniversary. The goal of the study is to value, firstly, the importance and relevance of this documentation on the knowledge about the history of Spanish cinema and, secondly, its diffusion and accessibility. The analysis is based on the study of the preserved documents and on interviews to the responsibles for the department. Issues like the creation of the archive, the procedence and features of the preserved documents, its processing, cataloging and diffusion are kept in mind. The conclusion is that the Film Academy guards essential documentation to investigate the history of Spanish cinema, but this collection needs a dynamization strategy to achieve a bigger diffusion and accessibility, all of that possible if its integration into the Europeana portal is executed.Downloads
