Abstract

This work is a preliminary report of the research project «Siblings of the Disappeared. Their Experience and the Effect of their Participation in the Reconstruction of the Biographic Family Archive of «Abuelas de la Plaza de Mayo». It is inscribed in issues of Human Rights, and in the reconstruction of the social history and the individual and collective memory of those affected by the last Argentine military dictatorship. It has two objectives: 1) to know the way in which the siblings of the disappeared elaborated the disappearance of their brothers and sisters. These social actors that are being investigated are also aunts/uncles of children/babies who were appropriated by the last military dictatorship, and that today, are young adults. The second objective wishes to search out the effect these siblings may have experimented alter they were interviewed by the Biographic Family Archive of Abuelas de Plaza de Mayo (being this last projects, an ongoing previous and a wider one), that has the goal of reconstructing the family history of the disappeared, and in which all the family members of the disappeared were interviewed. Possible changes, both positive and negative that are perceived as a consequence of these interviews, shall be investigated in the personal and family areas as well as other areas of their inter -subjectivity.
