Abstract

Though refugees had not been perceived as a contemporary reality, the massive influx of refugees via the coasts of Greece in the last year has confirmed the need to produce intervention models or guidelines to address this issue. This article analyses the reality that refugees face from a legal and psychosocial perspective, as well as considering domestic and international legal instruments, with the aim of providing social intervention using a crisis intervention model for refugees. This model is based on coping with and overcoming the crisis resulting from this group’s exile and refugee status.
