Proximity, reflexivity and critic: the place of ethnography in social intervention
Abstract
This paper explores the relationship between ethnography and social intervention, considering the possibilities offered by ethnography to accomplish a more sensitive approach to the social contexts subject of the social workers’ intervention. It will be discussed how ethnography can participate in the comprehension and delimitation of «social problems», and in the assessment of social policy impact. The role of ethnography as socio-cognitive and epistemological tool for social workers will also be under scrutiny.Downloads
